Abide
summer training project update
"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”
- John 15:4-5
Almost 100 students from universities in Kentucky (COLex) and Indiana (COI) spent 9 weeks in the heart of Orlando, Fl. learning what it means to “abide” in Christ. They were employed at parks like SeaWorld and chains like Chick Fil A, spent 4 days/week in specific trainings on things like evangelism and engaging the culture, and had plenty of fun living together at the Hotel. At least 6 students professed faith on the project and dozens more caught a vision to fulfill the great commission (some even committing to go into ministry overseas). Most students would say that they experienced the gospel and lived in a gospel centered environment in the richest way that they ever have. Now they are trying their best to bring what they’ve learned and what they’ve experienced back to their campuses. All in all, it was a very formative summer for these students!

“Orlando Project has impacted my life by fueling my desire to be in ministry. It allowed me the opportunity to grow in Christian community and spiritual maturity. It was an amazing opportunity that helped me see Jesus’ love through the Word, the lives of staff, and those around me!”
