God Gives Growth
Western kentucky university 2024 campus update
For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
It was our second full year on campus at WKU, and we have been praying that the foundation of our ministry at WKU would be built on reading the Bible with students who don’t have a relationship with Jesus. God was faithful; during our first year on campus, we saw 10 students profess faith in Jesus. In year two, we wanted to continue reading the Bible with non-Christians, and also train these new believers to do the same. Through 2 staff and a handful of student leaders, students all over campus are reading the Bible weekly and wrestling with its claims. More students continue to profess faith in Christ and others continue to count the cost of following Jesus. We truly have seen God fulfill his promise from Isaiah 55 – His word never returns empty!
21 students being discipled
4 intentional discipleship groups
100 students studying the Bible with our student leaders
25 total students involved
“I don’t deserve this. I sin every day. I don’t understand why Jesus would do that for me!”
