Riley Byers
Mobilization Director
My name is Riley Byers and I’m the Mobilization Director serving Campus Outreach Lexington. I have the privilege of helping our students and graduates obey the Great Commission by mobilizing them to proclaim the gospel in the Commonwealth and throughout the world.
I grew up in Muleshoe, Texas which is home to the National Mule Memorial and the 2008 Texas 2A state football champions. I love Muleshoe! I’ve been married to my wife Laurel since 2005 and we have 4 amazing children; Libby, Amelia, Annabel and Samuel.
I became a Christian during my junior year of college at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas through connecting with a college ministry. I developed a passion for evangelism and missions and after graduating served as a missionary in East Asia for 2 years which is where I met Laurel.
After getting married in Tampa, FL, we moved to Kentucky in 2006 for seminary and I graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Missiology in 2009. Over the next decade, by God’s grace and with Laurel’s help, I was able to serve as a minister to international students at a university, a lay elder in a local church, a student pastor, and a missions leader and mobilizer taking over 100 people on short-term mission trips across the world.
In 2018 I also began working a normal “secular” job that helped me see the Kingdom impact Christians can have in the workplace and God gave me a vision and passion to help graduating seniors see the same thing. God called me to work with Campus Outreach in February 2020.
There are hundreds of students growing in their faith through Campus Outreach and their local churches in our region. Our vision is that trained graduates would be mobilized to provide leadership in every sphere of influence (the church, medicine, community, business, education, missions, etc.) at home and around the world.
