Cassie:

Growing up in church I heard about God, but His Gospel of grace didn’t sink into my heart until my freshman year of college at the University of Kentucky through Campus Outreach. God used CO, intentional discipleship, and being in a sorority to help me see my need for a Savior and that there was nothing I could do to earn His love. It was no longer about me but Christ and the relationship I can have with Him. He lovingly picked me up every time I’d fall and showed me He truly was the only thing that could satisfy me. I now know He offers the living water, and he continues to show that to me in my walk with him.

I graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2022 and spent my first year and a half on staff there with CO. I'm currently serving on staff at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green! I’m excited to help young women grow in their faith, their love for Jesus, and their desire for others to know Christ.

Max:

I grew up going to church when it was convenient for my mom, my stepdad, and I. I resented going to church, yet considered myself a christian already because I simply believed that the Christian God exists, despite not knowing who he truly was.

I went to a summer camp that the church I attended endorsed every summer, and I heard the Gospel there for the first time. It was the first time I can remember ever being called a sinner, and that Jesus was the only way that I could ever be saved from my fatal sin problem.

When I got to Bellarmine University in the fall of 2020, I got involved with Campus Outreach (CO), so I could figure out what it meant to put my faith in Jesus. After the first CO meeting of the semester, a Campus Outreach staff member invited me to get a workout in with him at the on-campus gym. After that, he continually pursued me in an intentional discipleship relationship through bible studies, inviting me into his home, sharing the gospel with me regularly, and inviting me to CO events.

I gave my life to Christ in April of 2021. Since then, I have not stopped pursuing the Lord. He has given me a desire to kill my sin and pursue him in everything I do. My life is a living sacrifice to Him, and I yearn to please him as I walk in faith for every day of my life. I pray that he gives me the opportunity to share this hope and joy with many men all around the world who are lost in their sin like me. I thank God every day that he was gracious enough to pluck me from the darkness of sin before time in order that I might receive the riches that his Son’s perfect life, death, and resurrection has merited, for I am so undeserving.

The vonarx family:

Cassie and I (Max) met at a Campus Outreach event called Summer Training Project in 2021. We reconnected in the spring of 2023, started dating in August of 2023, and we got married in October of 2024. After I graduated and came on staff with CO, we were given the opportunity to move to Bowling Green, KY and join the staff team there. We've been in Bowling Green since January 2025, and we are excited to see all that God will do on Western Kentucky University's campus and in the students' lives!
